DnD at Elvaston Castle - You're Meat in a Tavern

Come and Join us for another day of amazing DnD Action! This session, the brief is simple, you meet in a tavern! A classic story hook giving our amazing DMs freedom to make some exciting adventures off a fan favourite start point!

We are excited to be running another enthralling DnD session within the eerily awesome & atmospheric halls of Elvaston Castle in Derby!  This is the perfect opportunity for Dnd Veterans, and RPG newbies alike to come together and enjoy playing some engaging games with complete strangers in a truly remarkable setting! All are welcome!

If you're interested, be sure to take a minute to read the narrative descriptions from each experience, pick which you'd like to play, and grab a ticket! Due to organisational costs, all tickets are non-refundable, but are transferrable.

About the Venue: Elvaston Castle is a stately home in Derbyshire, England. The country park has 200 acres of woodlands, parkland and formal gardens. For this event, we have access to the baronial hall, and many other rooms within the Castle often off limits to the public! There is plenty of on-site parking, and a café for refreshments to enjoy.

Included in your ticket: You'll get a full day of gaming with your selected DM and story, free entry into the raffle supporting the restoration of the aging building as well as other charitable causes, and a goodie bag from 7th City! You'll also have access to a variety of nerdy stalls to stock up on RPG items, and all sorts of other goodies!

Cosplay: While this isn't mandatory, we love to reward players who go above and beyond to get into the spirit of the event! There will be a prize for the best cosplay, and also the best table dressing for the DMs to really immerse you in their tales of peril!

DM: The Baron

Callum AD Mackay aka The Baron is a games master with 20+ years of experience of a wide range of systems, settings and campaigns under his belt. A steampunk-fantasy author and guest lecturer in steampunk, LGBTQ in fiction and historical combat he brings an eclectic and varied skill set to the table. If its anything horror, dark fantasy or social, a game with the Baron is sure to be a blast flecked with moments of comedy to keep everyone on their toes. 

Narrative

The food is simple and the drinks cold but we make do with who we can find. Maybe you’d like to enjoy the sun in a welcoming beer garden or partake in some quiet contemplation in our cosy little book nook? Looking for stress relief? Company? Companionship? Our barmaids and bartenders are all skilled in tenderising massages and if you need something a little more intense they can always find a willing body to help. Whatever you need we cater for every want, local or exotic, conservative or taboo, whatever you need to sate your appetite you’ll find we can provide. So Welcome to [redacted] the Tavern in the village of [redacted] so and warm you won’t be able to leave.” – Tourism board snippet from the region of Jubelium (pron: You-bell-ee-um), Don Todor after over 100 reported missing adventurers, runaways and vagrants over the course of five years.

Premise: The party have been captured and imprisoned somewhere underground, equipment missing, maybe somewhere beyond the sealed door? The players must work together to escape this place, find out who they are and why they were taken and hopefully take revenge! The game has many survival horror meets puzzles similar to media franchises like Saw, Hostel, Silent Hill and Resident Evil.

Players must build a Level 7 character, there are no race or class/subclass limitations but if you have homebrew or ideas you’d like to play please let me have a look first. Characters will be built using custom array and do not have starting equipment instead having 1000gp to equip their character (+1 enchantments to weapons or magic foci costs 150gp, +2 costs 500 gp, +1 armour enchantments cost 500Gp if applied to armour, 300gp if applied to a ring or accessory). 

Send me the equipment list but do not put any weapons, tools or equipment on your character sheets except armour (not shields). Don’t worry, you have the opportunity to gain all this equipment and possibly even better. I want to play a game.
